This is the time of the year when we start thinking about where we are in time. We think about what has happened this year and what we want to happen next year.
As a student of Stoic philosophy, I try to see what is and what is not under our control.
2024 brought many things that were completely out of our control. So, what is one to do?
We know that the only thing we control is our attitude, the Inner Citadel, as is known in Stoicism. We have free will that must be based on reasoned choice. Being prepared and acting based on virtue, i.e. wisdom, courage, justice, and balance. All of these virtues are in connection with nature.
I have been going through a personal transformation, going through a transition, from Full Time, Full Professor of Physical Science to Emeritus Professor and Entrepreneur. Founding (with the help and support of many colleagues) two corporations one is a nonprofit and the other is for-profit.
The nonprofit is the STEAM Hub 4 CISS (Creativity, Innovation, Sustainability, and Stewardship). We call this The Hub. You can learn more about The Hub here. The other is the STEAM Academy, you can learn more about it here.
